Terms and Conditions
Thank you for your interest in booking with Travel Prospects. Following are our terms and conditions.
Our Commitment & Guarantee:
If in the event that we obtain cheaper rates or alternatives to any of your components (prior to receipt of final payment) we will contact you with these offers, without penalty, excluding wholesaler/operator charges.
Credit Card Payments:
Please note – in most case prices are bases on cash or cheque payments – when possible credit cards are accepted, if fees are absorbed by operators/airlines. Please advise if you wish to pay by credit card prior to any documents being ordered on your behalf. If credit card fees can not be absorbed then we must re-cost your travel requirements as a credit card sale. In regards to your booking requirements 100% of your arrangements are applicable to a management fee.
A signed Credit Card Authority must be submitted prior to any documents being ordered / issued.
Cheque payments:
It is our policy not to accept cheques within 1 week prior to travelling, if payment is made within 1 week then a credit card guarantee will be required to cover the cheque and any subsequent fees that may arise if the cheque does not clear.
Travel Insurance:
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED – If you choose to decline Travel Insurance offered, it becomes your responsibility to handle and deal with any situations that occur with products that you have booked direct, or that are not the responsibility of Travel Prospects. It is your responsibility to liase with your alternative insurance provider on all claims and if they require any alterations to Travel Prospects invoicing – then a fee of $100.00 will be required. Travel Insurance covers more than just luggage lost & damaged. Travel Insurance also covers fees charged by operators, hoteliers, airlines, etc. as well as our general booking & handling fees. Once your premium is paid and the policy issued, you are covered automatically for extra cover leading up to your departure. Travel Insurance should be taken out as soon as any deposit is paid.
Taxes and Levies:
Whilst all prices are correct at time of invoice but introduction of new taxes and levies may incur increases. Once travel arrangements are fully paid then this situation usually does not arise - however in the case of fuel surcharges these may be passed onto you from the airline or cruise line.
Agency, not supplier:
Travel Prospects act as agents only for transportation companies, hotels and all other services and will not be responsible for any error, omission, delay, loss, damage, accident, irregularity or default on the part of or caused by such transportation companies, hotels and other services.
Extraordinary Costs:
In the event you request a late booking or any other extraordinary booking that requires urgent attention there may be other recoverable charges such as Telephone, Fax, Email, Net browsing or Courier charges. We will advise you of these at the time.
Jurisdiction:
Notwithstanding any implication of law to the contrary, all contracts / agreements between Travel Prospects and the purchaser shall be deemed to be made and construed and to be enforceable in and according to the laws of the State of South Australia and by mutual consent to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of that State.
Travel Prospects shall be entitled to charge interest on any monies payable by the Purchaser hereunder and in arrears at the rate currently charged by Travel Prospect’s banker on overdrafts or amounts equivalent to the amount outstanding plus 4% p.a. such interest to be calculated from the time such payment becomes due and payable until payment thereof.
Travel Prospects shall be entitled to recover any or all costs and expenses incurred in pursuing recovery of overdue amounts from the Purchaser including (but not limited to) legal fees, administration costs, location and service fees and any commission payable to debt recovery consultant and/or agents; and I acknowledge that those costs will be calculated on a commission basis at a percentage of up to 25% of the amount owing and I expressly agree to pay those costs irrespective of the amount of work actually done by the collection agency.
Itinerary Planning Fee
Should a detailed itinerary/quote be requested with flight times and availability, combined with tour or accommodation component, a non-refundable planning fee will be charged per itinerary. This fee will be credited towards your reservation when a booking is made.
Reservation/Cruise Deposit
This is payable at the time the reservation is requested and is in addition to any deposit fees charged by the tour operator/airline or other travel supplier. The Reservation or Cruise Deposit is non-refundable BUT if you proceed with the booking the amount of the deposit will be credited against the final amount payable. If you do not proceed with or subsequently cancel the booking the reservation deposit is non-refundable.
Amendments
Any changes to a confirmed, deposited or finalized booking prior to departure will attract an amendment fee as per the Schedule of Fees, plus any communications costs incurred in securing further bookings (of lesser value). Airlines / tour operator / wholesaler / hotelier etc may charge further amendment/cancellation fees which are in addition to the agency amendment fees.
Visa Fees / per Country
A fee is detailed in the Schedule of Fees (see below), inclusive of registration postage and/or courier fees is payable in addition to any Government and/or Consular fees.
Passport Information:
A valid passport is required to travel internationally and on most Australian cruises. A copy of your passport is required by Travel Prospects Most countries require at least six month’s validity from the date of your return to Australia. Some countries also require a minimum of two blank pages in your passport. If your passport details change at any time, it is your responsibility to advise Travel Prospects so the travel suppliers can be updated. If the change relates to your name, some suppliers will charge additional fees to amend your booking.
Cancellation
If cancellation occurs all fees are non-refundable.
Service Provider Conditions:
All service providers (cruise lines, airlines, hotels, tour operators etc.) have their own terms and conditions. Service providers reserve the right to alter itineraries and services due to operational, security or situational requirements. Please ask us if you have any questions regarding this.
Travel Advisories:
We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade travel advisories at www.smartraveller.com.au and subscribe for updates during your travels.
Travel Documentation:
It is the responsibility of the guest to ensure passports, visas, health requirements and other relevant or official travel documentation is correctly obtained.
Vaccinations & Health:
It is the guests’ responsibility to contact their Doctor or ‘The Travel Doctor’ regarding health requirements relevant to their travel itinerary. Some countries have mandatory vaccination requirements prior to entry.
Gratuities:
Gratuities are not usually included in your holiday package or cruise unless expressly stated. Please check with us for an estimate and be prepared to pay directly for tips if required.
