An interesting link to France is via David’s Great Grandfather, Arthur Lines, who served\u00a0in and around Villers Bretonneux winning the Military Medal for gallantry. He remained\u00a0in France, marrying a local French girl from Villers Bretonneux. (famous as the site of the\u00a0Australian National memorial cemetery and where in 1918 the Australians fighting as an \u201cAustralian Army\u201d stopped the German advance and turned the tide of the war.)<\/p>\n
